Brand Spotlight: Stratia

Hello. It’s me. I’m here.

Sorry for the radio silence on the blog front. There’s been a fair bit going on here and I just haven’t been in the right mind-set to sit down and blog. But I’m here now and bringing you a review that is very long overdue.

I’ve mentioned Stratia on here a few times before – solely in reference to their cult product Liquid Gold (what is it with that name and cult products eh?!)

Brand Spotlight: Clinique

When I recently asked my Instagram followers what they wanted to see on the blog, a round-up of Clinique was one of the most popular requests.

Clinique is surely one of the world’s best known skincare brands – and rightly so. Owned, by Estee Lauder Company (who also own Mac, Aveda, Jo Malone and La Mer, amongst others),  Clinique probably has one of the largest research and development budgets in the beauty world. Their 3-step routine is iconic and many generations of girls will have started their skincare journey there (not me though!!).

It’s highly accessible, available in most departments stores, lots of Boots branches in the UK, in Sephora in the US and countless places online. The prices aren’t hideous either, especially compared to some of its sister brands.

If you are new to skincare and don’t know where to begin, you could do far worse than Clinique – although please don’t bother with the 3-step!

Clinique’s range is huge, so I obviously haven’t tried everything – in fact I haven’t even come close! I do however have some thoughts on some of the most popular products so here is a handy little round up for you.

My week without facial oils

I recently mentioned on Instagram that I was giving up facial oils for a week and lots of people were interested why. Those who have become familiar with my skincare preferences will know that not using oils for a whole week is a big deal for me.

I have always struggled with moisturisers, primarily because all of those occlusive ingredients wreak havoc on my acne prone skin. I’ve found a couple that work for me, Clinique Moisture Surge Intense and Chanel Hydra Beauty Creme, but they are quite light and I’ve frequently felt like they are not enough. I do also use the Stratia Liquid Gold, which is a light lotion that contains moisturising ingredients and some oil, but again it felt too light to be used alone. So, usually, I would add a drop or two of a facial oil either under or over my moisturiser morning and night, but more recently I’ve forgone moisturisers all together because I just felt like they weren’t doing anything.

March Favourites

During the past month I have been more consistent with my product use then I have for as long as I can remember. Why? Because the products I am using are actually darned working. I know, a small miracle (which is not entirely conducive to my Instagram routine posts) but when you have skin like mine, it looking healthy is a bigger addiction that playing with a multitude of different products.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Review and the problem with Vitamin C

I took the photos for this post about five months ago – not long after I first bought the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum in November and instantly fell in love. Any yet here we are in April and I’m only just getting around to writing it. Grab a drink – this a long-un.
