During the past month I have been more consistent with my product use then I have for as long as I can remember. Why? Because the products I am using are actually darned working. I know, a small miracle (which is not entirely conducive to my Instagram routine posts) but when you have skin like mine, it looking healthy is a bigger addiction that playing with a multitude of different products.
Beauty subscription boxes. I have no idea how many there are out there (a lot), but they have always hovered on the peripheries of my interest/shopping list.
Let me start by take a quick detour and making a confession – I’ve grown to hate samples. I find them hugely wasteful and not really that helpful when it comes to my skincare journey. Of course, if it’s a product that’s already sitting on my wishlist and I have a chance to try it out, then I’m all over it. But random stuff, like the Jouer tinted moisturers that Cult Beauty are always giving away in utterly useless colours? No thanks.
Coming back to beauty boxes – this is inherently why they have never interested me. I don’t particularly want to fork out X amount of money on a box of things I don’t particularly want and am not going to get much benefit from due to the small product sizes.
That was until I laid eyes on the Beauty Heroes box.
I cannot believe it’s less than a month until Christmas. Where the hell has 2016 gone (not that any of us will be sad to see back of this annus horribilis).
I know everyone’s probably fatigued post Black Friday, but I didn’t buy anything so I’m itching for my Christmas time splurging!
I am heading home to England for Christmas which is my annual opportunity to ransack the local Boots, spends hours in Selfridges and in general stock up on more products that my face could ever possibly need.
Since starting this blog my wishlist has been growing at a rapid speed. So when my Grandmother started asking what I wanted for Christmas on 4th October (one day after my birthday), I started to take a more considered approach to thinking about what I actually wanted/needed (‘needed’ – haha, as if!).
I have managed to curate my list down to the following. I don’t think I will honestly get all of these over the Christmas/New Year period, but these are probably my priority for the next six months.
